Tempest stood at the edge of a beachside cavern, all artificial. He sniffed and squinted out at the sun, summer heat beating down. The promise of the shade would be nice.[break][break]

At his side, the Ninetails that Cillian Quinn had bequeathed to him. Marian sits still and quiet in the shade of the rock face, ever the haunting spirit she seemed to be. Tempest glanced back at the shadow pokemon and studied her for a moment- then shrugged.[break][break]

Clicking his tongue, Tempest headed on inside. Marian waited for him to pass before moving to follow him.

A bat swoops down. A Gligar to be more specific, but Tempest just ducks down and waves a hand to shoo it away. The pokemon hisses in the air and looks ready to attack- but Marian lingers behind and shoots a nasty look at the sand bat.[break][break]

The Gligar, unnerved by the Shadow pokemon, squeaks before turning to fly deeper into the cavern in a panic.[break][break]

Tempest just hums and glances around the little area they're in. It's dark, with a small series of lights around the bottom walls of the cavern providing dim light. The floor is sandy and a few pools of water are carved into the rock. A small path leads deeper, down where the Gligar had gone.[break][break]

Seeing no other pokemon, Tempest nods for Marian to continue before he starts to walk.

A low hum, then Tempest spots a green Baltoy slowly spinning in the distance. He perks up, then clicks his tongue to draw Marian's attention.[break][break]

It wasn't what he was here for, but maybe howard slayte would like it. Would bribing him with pokemon make Howard like him again? That's how that worked, right?[break][break]

Marian charged forward, snarling, and HEXED the Baltoy. The ground type collapsed on the ground from the hit. Marian ducked forward to try and finish it off, but Tempest gave a sharp, warning whistle as he tossed a pokeball at it.

Temp scoops up the ball in palm, tucking it into his pocket for later. He's got three of these puppies left and only two things he's actually after. He wonders what he'll do with the third....[break][break]

A bit deeper they find a small rock pool. It's brighter in here, the rock pool connecting clear water to a small ocean alcove. It would be pretty in here if it wasn't all man made.[break][break]

In the water, a little Horsea putters about in the surf. It locks eyes with Temp and Marian about the time Temp spots it. It panics, spouting out a Smokescreen that fills the water with an inky blackness.[break][break]

But it's too late. Marian is already acting, her Agility helping her to snatch the water type out of water and into the ground. It flops around uselessly as it cries out, wet and ailing in the puddle it's created. Temp hums, pleased, and tosses a ball at it.

Again, Tempest plucks the ball from the ground. This one is a little moist but he just wipes it on his thigh before putting it in his pocket.[break][break]

A Minior floats by, absently. Tempest glances up at it, squinting, but shakes his head and backs away. Marian's mouth fans with flames but Temp just gives a little whistle. She contemplates attacking anyway, then glances at her Trainer before reluctantly killing the fire.[break][break]

There is one more small cavern in the cave, so Tempest starts off that way.

The last cavern glows from under the water. False lights give it an ethereal glow, blue water deep and cascading. There are pokemon far below, little more than specks.[break][break]

What Tempest sees when he first enters, however, is a Trapinch.[break][break]

It seems to be digging itself a pit of some kind. The worker ant picks up large chunks of rocks to move from the circle, then chomps down powerful jaws to carve into the stone floor. Tempest did have that pokeball....[break][break]

Shrugging, he whistles for Marian. The fox is on the ground type before it can do much about it, flames searing the insect. Tempest tosses a pokeball absently before he steps over to the edge of the water.

From the bottom of the water, up comes a little blue blur. Marian drops the now-filled pokeball at Tempest's feet. He's about to pick it up when a stream of water pushes it from his hand.[break][break]

The Popplio is playful and seems sweet. It sits at the top of the water and motions for the pokeball; probably wanting to balance it on it's nose. Tempest offers it to the little seal.[break][break]

Only for Marian to snatch it out of the water. She flings it roughly to the ground. Temp just sniffs and rubs his nose when the little pokemon whines and looks at him with large, wide eyes in fear.[break][break]

"Sorry, cutie. Sometimes people are dicks."[break][break]

He tosses his final pokeball at it.
